ReVive research results in Johnville, New Brunswick

Control

Control

ReVive was applied on May 18, 2020 at 255 lbs/acre.

Control

Control

The Control yielded 281 cwt/acre (35.4 T/ha).

The ReVive treatment yielded 323 cwt/acre (40.7 T/ha)

Just a note about the 2020 growing conditions in the potato areas of New Brunswick. Most farmers were not getting enough rain to grow an average yielding crop of potatoes. Some experienced only half a crop.

ReVive can also be spread with a Terragator. ReVive was applied in September, 2019.

Control

Harvest took place October 5th, 2020.

Control

Total yield was determined by measuring of 3m sections following the windrower (4 rows).

Control

Control

Control

image1345

Total Yield for the control was 338 cwt/acre (42.6 T/ha)

ReVive

Control

ReVive

image1346

Total yields in this field were significantly higher compared to many other fields and farms due to soil fertility and rotational practices.

ReVive

Control

image1347

Total Yield following a ReVive application last Fall was 420 cwt/acre (52.9 T/ha).

image1348

In this experiment, there was a significant increase in tuber numbers between the Control (68/3m) and ReVive (82/3m) treatments. That translates into 2 more potato tubers per plant.

image1349

As was the case with the 2018 Knoxford experiment, the increase in yield can be largely attributed to the significant increase in tuber numbers. Although tuber numbers were up we didn't see an increase in smalls or decrease in 10oz tubers.

image1350

Although ReVive improves soil structure and productivity, poor degraded soils need time to recover. After 3 years of research with ReVive, we observed that yield increases are higher on fields that already produce good/great crop (compared to a control). This Killoween experiment shows that you can increase yields using biology.

ReVive was applied @ 255 lbs/acre on Sept 10, 2019.

Control

image1353

Harvest started Sept 26, 2020. Yields were determined behind the windrower (8 rows).

Control

Control

Control

image1354

Total yield was significantly lower compared to other years due to the lack of rain that summer.

On the Control side of the field, the yield was 195 cwt/acre (24.6 T/ha).

image1364

ReVive was applied May 24, 2019. In 2019, the potato crop responded very well to the ReVive application.

image1365

This year (2020) the crop was soybeans. We are testing the residual effects of ReVive a year later. In this picture (Aug 6, 2020), one can see a clear difference between the left and right side of the marker.

image1366

The soybean plants on the left (ReVive) show more leaf area compared to the control.

image1367

Harvest was on Oct 31, 2020.

image1368

Yield were determined using the yield monitor on the combine for each swath (10m).

image1369

Yields for the Control and ReVive treatments averaged 38.2 and 41.4 bu/acre, respectively. An increase in yield of 3.2 bushels/acre (+8.4%)
